AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL (AIH) ORGANIZES THE BOOSTER DOSE OF COVID-19 VACCINATION IN RESPONSE TO THE PEAK MONTH OF COVID-19 VACCINATION.

25/06/2022

In response to the peak month of covid-19 vaccination launched by the HCMC Department of Health, with a state of mind to participate and join hands in the battle against and control the Covid-19 pandemic, the American International Hospital (AIH) continues to implement the booster dose of Covid-19 vaccination, in order to create herd immunity and minimize new infections and re-infections, especially for high-risk groups; simultaneously ensure that people have been vaccinated sufficiently and timely in HCMC, from 14/6/2022 to 30/6/2022.

According to the HCMC Department of health’s guidelines, the American International Hospital (AIH) has carefully and fully prepared for vaccination implementation  from the reception, screening, injection and post-injection monitoring and the necessary means and equipment for post-injection monitoring, ready to respond to possible incidents.

To ensure principles of vaccination safety, customers are instructed for pre-vaccination screening exam, ensuring eligibility for Covid-19 vaccination. After vaccination given, customers will be directed to wait for 30 minutes in the post-vaccination observation area. In addition, the vaccination area is located near the Emergency Department for timely response to possible incidents.

Until mid-June 2022, the Ministry of Health announces that more than 1.12 million people with Covid-19 infection are under monitoring, supervision and treatment, including 53 severe cases. At the same time, the trend in increasing  prevalence of summer epidemics is at risk of "double burden" for healthcare system. Most of all, Omicron is the most common variant in the  world, but it is not the last yet, and a new variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus could potentially reduce vaccine or immunity effectiveness, causing severe symptoms or increased mortality, especially in vulnerable groups. Therefore, the Ministry of Health still emphasizes that vaccines are still an important measure in Covid-19 prevention, especially high-risk subjects with underlying diseases; healthcare workers need to be given booster dose sufficiently in order to enhance immunity, contribute to strengthen pandemic  prevention ability, early repel the pandemic.
